Wow!!! I'm totally jealous. I was in Corral number 2 and didn't see nearly the cool entertainment or motivation you saw on the course. Just goes to show, it's not always great to be in the front.

And, holy frijoles, Batman; you needed a LOT more fuel on your run. I'm glad there was a banana and beer to help you out. Maybe aid stations would do well to offer bananas on the course, for those athletes who are bonking due to low blood sugar. I know what you mean about eating a small child, and I can't believe you persevered through that. You are truly a marathoner, and I bow to you. :-)

Thanks Kim. Part of me really wants to run the 1/2 just because of the route. Don't know if I can resist the temptation of the full though.

Congrats on overcoming a major bonk to get a PR! I did the RnR (half) event here, and while it was well-organized and supportive to the runners, I think it could have showcased San Antonio better. Nice to hear the route in Las Vegas was fun.

Congrats on your PR! And thanks for the post. I ran the half so it's cool to read a first hand account of the marathon course. Good luck on your next race!
