Boston Marathon Entries Still Available

If you’re like me a have no chance of qualifying for the Boston Marathon or want to fulfill a New Year’s resolution by giving back, here’s your chance!!! Hurry though, they only have about 8 slots to fill on their 50 member team.

Massachusetts Eye and Ear still has numbers for the 2011 Boston Marathon. Join Team Eye and Ear and run for a cause that brings hope and a healthier future to people everywhere who battle loss of sight, hearing, voice, balance, taste, smell or head and neck cancer.

Since 2006, Massachusetts Eye and Ear’s marathon team has cumulatively raised over $1 million for research and patient care. In 2011, our goal is to raise $300,000. We ask each team member to make a fundraising commitment of at least $5,000.

Shoe for All – Shoe Drive & Clinic

13.1® Marathon Invites Community to Shoe For All
In Honor of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week

13.1® Marathon – Los Angeles invites the community to visit Top To Top, a specialty running store in Santa Monica to donate used running shoes to Give Your Sole, a program which collects athletic shoes from races and donates them to men, women, and children in need.

“Shoe For All” Guests will be treated to complimentary Shoe Clinics led by Top To Top’s skilled staff, individual fittings, a 15% discount on new shoe purchases, raffles, and a $13.10 discount on registration for 13.1® Los Angeles, a half marathon “Where the Party Meets the Pavement” taking place in Venice Beach on Sunday, January 16th.

Top To Top will continue to accept donations for Give Your Sole through Sunday, November 21stconcluding National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week.

13.1® Marathon – Los Angeles will return for its second year for a tinseltown themed half marathon andKarhu 5K celebrating the best of Los Angeles amidst ocean views. Give Your Sole seeks to provide less fortunate men, women & children with moderately worn athletic shoes collected at race events.  Give Your Sole works with local rescue missions and shelters in the cities that the races are held. Fresh Air Fund-Racers

On March 21, 2010, the Fresh Air Fund-Racers will again be taking to the streets of New York City. The Fund-Racers help raise money for the Fresh Air Fund, an organization that gives thousands of inner-city children the priceless gift of fun – and opens the door to a lifetime of opportunities.

Maasai Marathon

This is a pretty cool thing if you haven’t seen it yet. Ed Norton, three Maasai warriors and a cast of 30 other runners (including David Blaine and Alanis Morissette) will be running in the ING New York City Marathon to raise awareness for the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust.
